Chana Liora Rosenfield, of Ramat Bet Shemesh, Israel, was just three years old when she succumbed to Cancer after a heroic and inspiring struggle. Chani was the first child in her family to be born in Israel after her parents made Aliya 4 years ago from New York. Chani was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma at Hadassa Hospital in Jerusalem and later continued treatment in Memorial Sloan Kettering in NY. She underwent many rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, antibody treatment, etc., including various hospital stays. Chani passed away on June 1, 2004, 12th of Sivan 5764.

Chani lived with her big sister, Lilach (5 years old), her little 1-year old brother Eli, and her Aba and Ema (Daniel and Halana). During a standard check-up for an ear infection one and a half years ago, a doctor in Ramat Bet Shemesh revealed a growth in Chani's abdomen. Following a number of scans and tests, it was confirmed that Chani had Neuroblastoma (cancer).

Chani was a fun-loving girl, who, among other things, enjoys playing dress-up with Lilach, kissing mezuzahs, feeding her baby dolls, giving tzedaka, reading books all day, finding the chirping birds outside, and lighting the Shabbat candles with her Ema.

Her parents remember her not only hooked up to an IV pole - but RIDING the IV pole around the hospital with a big smile, making all of the children and parents laugh and bringing some joy to the other patients and their families.

Chani taught others to appreciate every moment in life. She was so good-natured and happy. On one occasion when she was only 1 and a half she had to have an IV inserted in the middle of the night. After many tries at stabbing and jabbing to get the IV in and much crying, Chani turned up to the nurse and gave her a kiss. This is who Chana Liora Rosenfield was, she took everything in stride and with a smile.

What gedolim and roshei yeshiva try to inspire people around the world to greater heights of tefilla, chesed and unity, Chani was able to accomplish in her short 3 years, with help from this website.

This website was developed by friends of the family in Toronto, Canada. In response to a tremendous outpouring of love and concern for Chani, the following was created (please see attached links):

People were asked that in addition to keeping Chani in mind, to please also have in mind the soldiers and civilians who have been injured by terrorists, or any person who may need a refuah sheleimah (immediate and complete recovery).

At the very least, we hope that our tefillot (prayers) and maasim tovim (good deeds) will give meaning to this difficult situation, and potentially help others in need as well.

It is our hope that the knowledge of our combined efforts and tefilot (prayers) will give Daniel and Halana and their family chizuk (strength) during these trying times.
